The hospital has 20 ICU beds, 10 HDU beds and 70 other beds, some of which are in suites or on a twin-sharing basis.
“Due to the rise in the number of Covid patients, we have started an exclusive Covid hospital with 100 beds in Greater Noida’s Omega 1. At our non-Covid hospital in Noida, we get daily queries for Covid treatment,” said Dr Ayush Chauhan, executive director, Prakash Hospital.
The doctor added that while most private hospitals are almost full with Covid patients, they have now opened a 100-bed hospital dedicated to only Covid patients. “This will cater to the increased numbers expected due to the relaxations announced in terms of movement as well as the upcoming festival season,” Dr Chauhan said.
The group had been running a fever clinic till now.
The private hospital has three operation theatres (OTs) for major procedures, two for minor surgeries, two labour rooms equipped with a nursery and newborn intensive care unit (NICU), along with ultrasound, echo, dialysis, X-ray and CT-Scan facilities.
The hospital also has a 24 hour laboratory, a pharmacy and ambulance services. It is an L1-3 facility.
“We have all types of specialists, like nephrologists, cardiologists, and anaesthetists, who can look into most comorbid conditions that the patients might have,” Dr Chauhan said.
He added, “We will closely monitor each and every Covid patient, including those with comorbidities. Depending on the condition of a patient, we might shift those who are tested negative for Covid to our non-Covid facility in Noida so that the beds here can be optimally utilised for Covid patients,” said Dr Chauhan.
The hospital is the fifth private Covid facility in Greater Noida.
The others are Yatharth, Fortis, Jaypee and Kailash hospitals.
For testing, the new Covid hospital in Greater Noida has tied up with SRL and Dr Lal Pathlabs. The facilities would conduct testing for the hospital on its premises.
